APRIL 2011 - Contract Training of Seplat Staff in Lagos, Nigeria

Hargreaves Jones Directors, Peter Hargreaves, Glynn Jones and Charles Hewitt travelled to Nigeria in April to continue work on the production of invitation to tender documentation for Seplat, a new oil producer in the Nigerian market with plans to expand production over the next five years.

Whilst there the HJ Team presented a two day NEC3 Contract Awareness course to the Seplat Contracts & Procurement team as well as staff from the Engineering, Planning, Subsurface and Finance plus the majority JV partner, the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company.

Director Glynn Jones commented "The work we are doing with Seplat fits in well with our previous experience on oil and gas related projects and our burgeoning work in the subsurface sector on the production and administration of contracts for Workover and Snubbing rigs and the associated Well Services contracts".

With regard the training, Director Charles Hewitt stated, "Training to enable the Seplat staff to confidently administer contracts produced using the NEC3 Conditions of Contract was delivered at Seplat's Lagos offices so that their busy teams, dealing with an exciting business plan based on increasing production, would be away from their day to day work for as little time as possible." This has not been possible in the past with staff often having to be flown to the UK, Europe or USA to receive appropriate training at increased expense and staff downtime.
